The Dental Hygienist promotes dental health by assessing patient needs, completing direct dental care of patients, develops treatment plans, and provides patient education, including oral cancer screening, radiographic studies, and complete dental charting of dental conditions in compliance with the dental practice act, under general supervision of a licensed Dentist.

Assesses dental condition and needs of patient; uses patient screening procedures, including medical history review, comprehensive dental charting, and records patient vital signs as required Provides direct Patient care in collaboration to the dentist in the performance of special tests, procedures, and complex treatments, may act as an additional resource between patient and dentist as needed Prepares patient care areas by adhering to prescribed Safety and Infection Control procedures, protocols and policies Prepares patient admission, transfer, and discharge process, as required; prepares reports and assists as required with patient reception, routine triage, and other office duties Provides instructions for patients in oral hygiene techniques and post-operative instructions while adhering to HIPAA guidelines Maintains dental hygiene inventory and correct operational use of dental equipment Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed What you’ll need to be successful:
Licensed Wisconsin Dental Hygienist, completion of CRDTS exams and registered with the National Board of Exams for Dental Hygiene is required, with maintained Continuing Education requirements Associates Degree required in dental hygiene, certified to administer local anesthesia, and CPR certification required. Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of experience preferred Current knowledge of dental hygiene sciences such as oral anatomy, histology, nutrition, pharmacology, and the principles and techniques of dental hygiene services Knowledge and maintenance of dental instruments and materials to perform specialized therapeutic dental hygiene procedures, dental medicaments, and periodontal therapies Ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues (both verbally and non-verbally) while upholding a professional work environment Experience with computers and office machines, including Dentrix, Dexis, CT Technology, Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens FCP complies with all CDC vaccine and testing recommendations for healthcare professionals. Proof of immunizations is required and immunizations/testing provided upon hire.
