A growing healthcare organization in Northeast Wyoming is seeking a full-time Chief Medical Officer (CMO). This is an opportunity for an experienced physician executive to strengthen the partnership between medical staff and administration while advancing quality, recruitment, retention, and organizational change.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the CEO, the CMO will serve as a key member of the leadership team and an important bridge between hospital administration and a diverse medical staff. The organization includes approximately 60 employed physicians, and independent physicians represent approximately 40% of the medical staff. The successful candidate will build trust, encourage collaboration, and help align employed and independent physicians around shared priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or provide significant oversight for hospital-wide quality initiatives.
• Strengthen medical staff, physician, and administrative relationships.
• Support physician recruitment and retention.
• Provide medical staff leadership and oversight of physician leaders and medical directors.
• Advance accreditation activities and regulatory and survey readiness.
• Oversee anesthesia services, including scheduling and budget responsibilities.
• Identify and implement needed changes across the medical staff and organization.
• Support collaboration between employed and independent physicians.
• Participate in administrative call approximately one week every eight weeks.
• Maintain some clinical responsibilities, if appropriate and mutually agreed upon.

Requirements

• The ability to lead organizational change in a complex hospital environment.
• Experience supporting physician leaders and medical directors.
• Willingness to maintain a limited clinical practice, if appropriate.
